On 9 November 2024, at approximately 0016 hours local time, Raytown Police Department (RPD) officers and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers responded to a gas station on the 8700 block of East 63rd Street in Raytown after a 32-year-old male suspect got into an altercation with a security guard and claimed that he had explosives and firearms in his vehicle. The suspect left the scene on foot before police arrived, and officers evacuated the area and called the Kansas City Police Department’s Bomb and Arson Unit to assist.

On 6 November 2024, at approximately 1709 hours local time, Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office notified Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson Police Department that a 31-year-old male suspect—who they were in pursuit of following an alleged domestic violence incident—was in Jackson County. Officials spotted the suspect’s vehicle on the 1000 block of Cooper Street in Jackson and began a vehicle pursuit. The suspect reportedly fired at officers while fleeing, striking homes and vehicles before injuring a police sergeant.

On 13 November 2024, media reports indicated that Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies arrested two suspects after executing an outstanding warrant at a residence on the 6400 block of Southeast Lockerby Place in Hobe Sound. MCSO deputies discovered a pipe bomb and bomb-making material (BMM) used to construct the pipe bomb, including exploding target material, ball bearings, and PVC pipe in the residence. Deputies also found multiple firearms in the home, some of which had visible drill marks and altered switches.

On 13 November 2024, Brazilian federal police responded to Brazil’s supreme court building in Three Powers Plaza in Brasilia after a man functioned an IED, killing himself in the process. According to media reporting, the man functioned an explosive device in a vehicle in the parking lot before attempting to enter the Supreme Court building. Security camera footage captured the suspect throwing an object at a statue, retreating when a security guard approached, and then throwing an explosive device at the building, which functioned.

On 28 October 2024, at approximately 0400 hours local time, Vancouver Police Department (VPD) officers responded following a report of smoke and fire at a ballot box near Southeast 164th Avenue in Vancouver. At the scene, officers found an incendiary device that had been functioned on the side of the ballot box, which was still on fire. First responders extinguished the flames and requested the assistance of VPD’s Metro Explosive Device Unit (MEDU). MEDU technicians responded to the scene and collected the remnants of the incendiary device. No injuries were reported.
