On 3 October 2024, at approximately 0400 hours local time, Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies responded to a home on the 4800 block of NW Grover Lane in Bremerton for a report of a vehicle that had been damaged by an explosion. Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue crews stated that the explosion appeared to have been intentional. The vehicle’s owner informed deputies that he had seen an individual allegedly place an IED, described as a black box with a flashing red light, under the vehicle, which functioned as he went over to investigate. No injuries were reported.

On 4 October 2024, at approximately 1900 hours local time, firefighters and police officers responded to a residence on the 7000 block of Montague Street in Philadelphia following reports of a fire, strong chemical smells, and loud explosions. Firefighters rescued a man and a woman from the home while combating the blaze. No injuries were reported. The Philadelphia Police Department bomb disposal unit and ATF and DHS agents responded to the scene following the discovery of hazardous material.

On 4 October 2024, at approximately 0030 hours local time, firefighters and police officers responded to a house fire on the 12000 block of Lake Constance Drive in St. Louis. Firefighters attending to the fire and smoke inside the home discovered “numerous vials containing unknown chemicals and substances” in the basement, along with tanks, beakers, and other drug production equipment. The St. Louis Regional Bomb and Arson Unit and Creve Coeur Fire Department Hazmat Units responded to assist.

On 1 October 2024, at approximately 1200 hours local time, a 10-acre wildfire was reported along Kamehameha Highway in Haleiwa. The Honolulu Fire Department and Honolulu Police Department responded to the scene, and firefighters extinguished the fire. On 2 October, investigators returned to the scene with a K-9, and an investigation revealed that multiple incendiary devices had functioned, igniting the fire. No structures were damaged, and no injuries were reported. A 76-year-old male suspect was arrested in connection to the incident.  

On 2 October 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that 68 suspected members and associates of the neo-Nazi “Peckerwoods Gang,” a white supremacist street gang based in San Fernando Valley, were charged following a large-scale investigation into the organization’s suspected criminal activity. During the investigation, authorities seized unspecified BMM, firearms, and dozens of pounds of drugs. One suspect was reportedly manufacturing explosive devices when arrested. No further details on the BMM were provided. The FBI is leading the ongoing investigation.
