New Mexico: IED Discovered in Residence, 1 Arrested
On 2 April 2024, at approximately 2130 hours local time, Chaves County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered a suspicious device while searching a home south of Roswell. Deputies called the New Mexico State Bomb Squad to assist with the device, which they determined was an IED described as a large propane tank with electrical wires protruding from it. The homeowner told authorities that he also had a hand grenade inside his home. The individual was arrested, and authorities continued searching the home. No further information was released.
