On 7 August 2024, at approximately 1030 hours local time, a Bloomfield Police Department (BPD) officer responded to a house fire and extinguished it single-handedly. Upon further investigation of the scene, the responding officer discovered an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail, in the driveway. During the investigation, a female suspect, possibly under the influence of drugs, returned to the home with another IID and was arrested. BPD believes that a similar IID was used to ignite the house fire. The investigation is ongoing.
 

On 2 August 2024, at approximately 0700 hours local time, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force STAR (Special Tactics and Response) Team discovered 2 pipe bombs, 15 grenades, 107 pounds of unspecified explosive powder, narcotics, 7 guns, and a large amount of ammunition while searching a home in the 6500 block of North Hickory Street in Kansas City. Kansas City Missouri Police Department Bomb Squad technicians responded to assist and removed the explosives.

On 3 August 2024, at approximately 1130 hours local time, Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence on Burke Hill Road in Ukiah after a resident found a pipe bomb in their mailbox. The Sonoma County Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team responded to assist. Bomb technicians examined the device, described as a galvanized metal pipe filled with smokeless powder with two plastic end caps and a fuse attached, before removing it from the scene and rendering it safe.

On 25 July 2024, Lake Worth Police Department (LWPD) officers found two bags containing potentially explosive devices in separate locations in Lake Worth after a suspicious man was initially reported inside a department store. LWPD officers found the first suspicious bag outside of an auction house on Azle Avenue, and a second bag was later found on Boat Club Road. The Fort Worth Fire Department responded to assist. Bomb squad technicians examined the contents of the backpacks, which were described as propane tanks, electrical wiring, and pressure cookers, before rendering them safe.

On 26 July 2024, at approximately 2200 hours local time, a 42-year-old male suspect forcefully entered a home on the 400 block of West Fourth Street in Elmira and threw an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail, at the living room wall. The IID functioned and lit part of the wall and floor on fire before the suspect fled the scene. The resident and neighbors were able to extinguish the blaze before calling the Elmira Police Department (EPD) and Elmira Fire Department, who both responded to the scene, along with New York State Fire Investigators.
