Glenrock: On 4 July 2026, around 2130 local time, the Glenrock Fire Department responded to a firework explosion where a male juvenile was hit by a firework after it exploded on South 4th Street in Glenrock, WY. A firework entered the area where his family was gathered, struck the male juvenile in the eye, and exploded. The male juvenile was airlifted to a Denver Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. An unspecified number of others were also injured. The incident is under investigation.

Saint Petersburg: On 2 July 2026, in the afternoon, the Saint Petersburg Police and the Tampa Police Bomb Squad (TPBS) responded to a suspected explosive device at a private residence on 8th Street North in Saint Petersburg, FL. The device was found in the garage of the recently deceased homeowner. TPBS determined the device was too unstable to move and rendered safe with a controlled detonation. The device was buried with a countercharge and detonated; after which, it continued to burn for about an hour. Police did not release details on the type of device discovered.

Four suspects in masks and gloves, dressed in black, stole four large boxes of artillery shell fireworks, in addition to other, smaller fireworks. The store owner estimated they stole approximately $6,000 worth of fireworks. The thieves fled in a white Dodge vehicle. The investigation remains ongoing.
