West Bloomfield Township: On 12 March 2026 around 1230 local time, a 41‑year‑old armed suspect rammed a vehicle into Temple Israel synagogue in West Bloomfield, striking a security guard. The guard exchanged gunfire with the suspect, who later died from a gunshot wound.
Michigan City: On 11 March 2026, following the suspect’s arrest at the church, Michigan City Police and the Porter County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence on Brinkman Avenue. Additional explosives and bomb‑making materials were recovered, consistent with those found on the suspect at the church.
Authorities stated they were not releasing further information to preserve the investigation.

Police discovered multiple explosive devices on the suspect. The Porter County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad responded to mitigate the devices.
Kings Grant: On 10 March 2026, the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad responded to a residence on Ballast Drive after a citizen reported finding a Stinger missile training device in their yard. The device was X‑rayed and determined to be inert. Federal authorities were notified and are assisting with the investigation.
Middletown Township: On 9 March 2026, the FBI, with support from the Middletown Township and Newton Police Departments, conducted three controlled detonations at a Public Storage facility on South Flowers Mill Road. The detonations followed the discovery of explosive residue on unidentified items connected to the two suspects involved in the 7 March 2026 IED incident near Gracie Mansion in New York City.
The FBI did not release additional details about the evidence recovered.
Houston: On 9 March 2026 at approximately 2200 local time, Harris County Precinct 4 Constables responded to a residence on Bronze Leaf Drive in Cypress, TX, after a male suspect called authorities stating he planned to detonate explosive devices and conduct a mass shooting on Highway 290. Deputies detained a 20‑year‑old male at the home.
Salina: On 8 March 2026, Riley County Police and their Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit responded to Indian Rock Park on Gypsum Avenue after a suspicious device was discovered. EOD determined the item contained powder and had a fuse. It was rendered safe.
The device appeared weathered, suggesting it may have been in the park for an extended period.
New York: On 7 March 2026 around 1230 local time, the New York Police Department (NYPD) arrested two male suspects, ages 18 and 19, after the younger suspect threw two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at protesters and NYPD officers near Gracie Mansion, the New York Mayor’s residence.
Byron: On 6 March 2026 at approximately 0230 local time, Thayer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 hang‑up call and located a 30‑year‑old suspect involved in a vehicle crash. Deputies found marijuana, unidentified pills, a glass pipe with residue, and cocaine.
After the suspect was taken to a hospital, deputies conducted a probable‑cause search of the vehicle and located a galvanized pipe with a green fuse, commonly referred to as a pipe bomb. The Nebraska State Bomb Squad confirmed it was an explosive device.
Port Orchard: On 5 March 2026 in the evening, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad responded to the Mullenix Market on Southeast Mullenix Road after officers found a suspected explosive device inside a 25‑year‑old suspect’s vehicle. A small quantity of methamphetamine was also recovered.
The bomb squad neutralized the device. The suspect was taken into custody but transported to a hospital for an unspecified medical issue.
