Keshena: On 18 December 2025, the Menominee Reservation Tribal Police responded to multiple reports of loud explosions and discovered a man had been injured by a homemade explosive device. Emergency medical services (EMS) provided treatment at the scene before transporting him for further care. Authorities confirmed the man had sustained significant injuries as a result of the explosion. The investigation is ongoing.
Kansas City: On 28 December 2025, around 0030 local time, someone shattered a window using an explosive device at the Iglesia Cristiana Bethel Church of God, in the Turner neighborhood, at South 49th Street and Oak Grove Road. Police said they have evidence indicating that an illegal explosive device, similar to an M-80, was placed on the church's windowsill, where it detonated. The building is constructed of bricks, and the blast cracked some bricks, left char marks on the windowsill, and shattered glass in the room.
Decatur: On 28 December 2025, Macon County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 6500-block of West Rock Springs Road in Decatur, a rural residential area, in response to reports of explosions. Deputies found a 57-year-old male suspect who admitted to detonating substantial quantities of Tannerite on his property. The suspect was arrested for reckless conduct but was released at the scene after being issued a notice to appear. The article noted that under Illinois state law, Tannerite is legal to possess in amounts less than 50 pounds and with a valid Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card.
Cherry Hills Village: On 30 December 2025, Cherry Hills Village Police released information about a vandal using improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to commit acts of vandalism along the Highline Canal Trail in Cherry Hills Village over the past two months. The male suspect appears to strike between midnight and early morning hours. The suspect was captured on camera during an incident that took place in the early morning hours of 18 December 2025. The devices were described as small, crude, homemade devices using either pill bottles or PVC pipe.
Chandler: On 18 December 2025, around 0030 local time, Chandler Police responded to reports of a loud explosion near the Price frontage road and West Calle Del Norte in a Chandler neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers located a suspicious item believed to be a homemade explosive near an area where concrete had been damaged. Detectives collected evidence and searched the area for any additional explosives. Authorities did not believe there was an ongoing threat to the public.
Stamford: On 2 December 2025, Stamford Police Department responded to a private residence and engaged in an hour-long standoff following an eviction attempt by a State Marshal earlier that morning. The 63-year-old male suspect released his wife and then barricaded himself inside. He then reportedly exchanged fire with the police using an AK-47. After breaching the residence, police found the suspect had died from suicide. Police reported the home was rigged with grenades, pipe bombs, and Molotov cocktails.
Wamego: On 10 December 2025, at approximately 0626 local time, the Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) and the Kansas Highway Patrol served a search warrant on a residence along Wabaunsee Road near Wamego, to locate a wanted felon. Although the suspect was not found at the location, police did locate multiple illegal items in plain view including an illegally shortened shotgun, drug paraphernalia, and other items indicating illicit narcotics use.
Pueblo: On 17 December 2025, Pueblo Police, the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives served a search warrant on the residence of a 57-year-old male suspect. During the search, police seized eight firearms, drugs, ammunition, two non-functioning explosive devices, and other assorted items. The report did not specify the reason why the explosive devices were inoperable. The suspect was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, failure to appear, and as a special offender.
Palm Bay: On 4 December 2025, in the early morning, a 26-year-old male suspect was arrested in Palm Bay during the execution of a search warrant in a joint operation by Brevard County Sheriff's Office, Palm Bay Police, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Drug Enforcement Agency. The suspect was found in possession of 92,000 pounds of a kratom derivative (7-OH), a cache of weapons, five improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and bomb-making materials, including precursor chemicals.
Palatka: On 11 December 2025, a Goodwill was evacuated after police reported a live hand grenade was found in a donation bin. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office’s Bomb Squad was called in to assist in the situation, where they safely transported the grenade to a secure location and detonated it remotely.
