Texas: Border patrol agent brings flash-bang grenade to international airport, one arrested
McAllen: On 1 February 2026, around 1227 local time, police officers responded to a call for a “live explosive device” at McAllen-Miller International Airport. The Transportation Security Administration discovered the device while screening luggage and contacted the police department. Officers determined the device was a flash-bang grenade and belonged to a Border Patrol Agent, a 42-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of weapon-places prohibited, a third-degree felony and transported to jail.
