Rock Hill: On 22 November 2025, at approximately 0300 local time, Rock Hill Police Department (PD) closed US-21 after a grenade was found in a vehicle following a crash. The Rock Hill PD bomb squad assessed the ordnance and removed it after identifying it was inert.
Pawtucket: On 03 November 2025, the North Providence, Rhode Island (RI) Fire Department and RI Bomb Squad were called to a residence when a concerned citizen was cleaning out her house and discovered a hand grenade. The bomb squad determined no explosives were present in the grenade and removed the device safely.
Dayton: On 24 November 2025, at approximately 1700 local time, Dayton Police Department Bomb Squad responded to a residential neighborhood to deal with a bomb that was reportedly found. Technicians identified the device to be a consumer-grade smoke grenade. They also found evidence suggesting that it was tampered with. The grenade was dropped off at a disposal site. This incident is possibly related to an arson call in the area over the weekend. Police are continuing to investigate.
Tupper Lake: On 11 November 2025, at approximately 1718 local time, New York State Bomb Disposal Unit (NYSP) and Tupper Lake Police Department responded to a report of an improvised explosive device (IED), in a residence. The NYSP safely removed the IED. A 27-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
Hamilton: On 05 November 2025 a Hamilton, Montana resident called 911 to report that his neighbor, a 30-year-old male, had brought a galvanized pipe bomb to his house in exchange for drug money. Later that evening, at approximately 2330 local time, the resident contacted authorities again, stating that he had the bomb in his possession after the suspect left it and a rifle as collateral for money. The suspect was located near a Hamilton Taco Bell on Thursday, where he admitted to constructing the bomb.
Flint: On 05 November 2025, at approximately 1900 local time, Flint Police Department bomb squad responded to render safe, by detonation, an unknown number of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) found in a residence in Flint, Michigan. No details about the construction of the devices were released. The search of the residence did not identify any additional devices. The person suspected of constructing the devices was already in jail on unrelated charges.
Strong City: On 20 November 2025, at approximately 0700 local time, an Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team from Ft. Riley, Kansas and the Riley County Police Department bomb squad responded to the scene of a search warrant execution in Strong City, Kansas after two grenades and another, unspecified piece of military ordnance, were found during the search. At least one of the devices was live; all ordnance was removed by the Ft. Riley EOD team, and the scene was secured.
Iowa City: On 17 November 2025, Johnson County bomb squad responded to a residence in Iowa City, Iowa to remove a grenade. The bomb squad confirmed the grenade was real but had been rendered inert after an X-ray scan. Police are investigating the origin of the grenade.
Fort Pierce: On 08 November 2025, at approximately 1250 local time, a grenade was found among donations to a Goodwill at the Sabal Palm Plaza shopping center in Fort Pierce, Florida. The Fort Pierce Police Department and the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office bomb disposal unit responded. The grenade was determined to be an inert novelty item, and the bomb squad removed it without incident.
Orlando: On 28 November 2025, the Orlando Fire Department (OFD) Arson Bomb Team responded to a residence in Orlando, Florida. Upon inspection, the OFD identified the device as an inert grenade and requested assistance from the Patrick Space Force Base Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit for further handling.
