Florence: On 23 February 2026, in the morning, an item resembling an artillery shell was found among the donations at the Erlanger St. Vincent de Paul. The item was left in an outdoor donation bin on Sunday, so employees don't know who left it. Employees notified police who advised the employees and volunteers to evacuate. The store wasn't open yet, so no customers were inside. Police worked with Emergency Management, and Cincinnati's Hazardous Device Team to determine the shell was inert and decorative.

Montrose: On 21 February 2026, at approximately noon emergency crews responded to a kitchen fire at a residence along State Route 3001 in Elk Lake. The Fire Chief of Elk Lodge stated, "The homeowner came to me and said that they had dynamite stored in the basement, and I had to pull all units out of the residence, and we went into a defensive mode and evacuated the area until the Pennsylvania State Police bomb squad could arrive and verify that the problem was taken care of". Emergency response crews evacuated residents near the scene due to the possible explosion risk.

Cumberland: On 19 February 2026, Maryland State Troopers responded to a residence on Tulip Street in Cumberland, MD. While on scene, troopers heard a gunshot and later recovered a discarded firearm. Troopers later encountered two 21-year-old male suspects. During a search of their residence, troopers recovered five “ghost” guns, 600 rounds of ammunition, a 3D printer, and an IED. The bomb squad of the Office of the State Fire Marshal responded and confirmed the IED to be a live weapon and it was rendered safe.

Albuquerque: On Thursday, 19 February 2026, around midday, a Social Security office in Albuquerque had to be evacuated due to a torch lighter that looked like a hand grenade. A police spokesperson says the “grenade” was discovered while x-raying a man’s belongings as he was entering the office. A bomb squad remotely inspected the item and confirmed it was not an explosive hazard. It was identified as a torch lighter resembling a hand grenade. The building was reopened, and FBI agents arrived to interview the suspect. The suspect remains in federal custody.

Yucaipa: On 17 February 2026, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies with the Gang and Narcotics Unit arrested three male suspects aged 55, 35, and 27, while serving a search warrant on a private residence on the 13000-block of Maplewood Drive in Yucaipa, CA. During the search, deputies located and seized firearms, ammo, and fentanyl as well as several suspected explosive devices. After finding the suspected explosives, deputies from the Bomb and Arson Division along with special agents from the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives responded to assist.
