Enfield: On 1 June 2026, in the early afternoon, the Enfield Police Department and the Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad responded to a residence on Lake Drive after receiving a complaint that a 56‑year‑old male suspect had threatened violence toward workers at a nearby construction site. Officers gained entry to secure firearms and discovered a World War II–era mortar round inside the home. As a precaution, authorities established a perimeter and directed nearby residents to shelter in place or evacuate.

Orangevale: On 30 May 2026, around 0900 local time, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit responded to a report of explosives found in a private residence located on Beech Avenue in Orangevale, CA. The caller informed the deputies that the home previously belonged to her father, a former military demolitions instructor, who was now deceased. The EOD team recovered one smoke grenade, two incendiary grenades and two half-blocks of C4 from the residence. All items were removed for later disposal. 

Kinston: On 28 May 2026, Kinston Police served a search warrant on the residence, on South Heritage Street in Kinston, NC, of a 43-year-old male suspect accused of threatening county officials with a hydrogen-based explosive. There, police recovered a clear liquid and equipment, described as precursors for a bomb in the warrant. The warrant also referenced “self-admitted ‘bomb technology.’” The suspect was arrested and charged with manufacture, assemble, or possess a weapon of mass destruction, threaten executive, legislative, court, or local government officials, and terrorism.

Calhoun: On May 27, 2026, the McLean County Sheriff’s Office and explosive technicians from Owensboro and Fort Campbell responded to a report of an old military explosive device found at an auto salvage yard, located on US Highway 431 in Calhoun, KY. Police closed US Highway 431 between Highway 250 and Highway 1080 for approximately three hours while the explosive technicians evaluated and removed the device. Police did not specify how the device was discovered. The investigation remains ongoing. 

Evansville: On 26 May 2026, around midnight, the Evansville Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at a residence located on East Florida Street in Evansville, IN. Officers identified and arrested an 18-year-old suspect involved in the shooting. They initiated a search of the residence the suspect had exited from, identifying a second 28-year-old suspect, who was unrelated to the shooting but had active warrants and took him into custody.
