South Carolina: Possible bomb making materials found in vehicle after traffic stop, one arrested

Myrtle Beach: On 17 February 2026, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, along with the Myrtle Beach Police Department, searched a car in a tow lot in Myrtle Beach. Possible bomb making materials - gunpowder and several firearms - were found in the car, according to police. The car was towed to a nearby towing company following a traffic stop arrest on 16 February 2026 of 31-year-old male suspect of Darlington after they found the individual to be in possession of narcotics.

West Virginia: Traffic stop leads to discovery of a pipe bomb; one arrested

Horner: On 16 February 2026, at approximately 1045 local time, Upshur County Sheriff’s Department (UCSD) deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 31-year-old male suspect along Linger Run Road in Horner, WV. During the stop, the driver handed a deputy a bag with a white crystal-like substance, which the deputies presumed was methamphetamines leading to a probable cause search of the vehicle.

Ohio: Business discovers live anti-aircraft rounds in building, bomb squad called; rendered safe

Mount Vernon: On 13 February 2026, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office reported a local business OH, discovered 64 anti-aircraft high explosive rounds while cleaning out a facility. The Columbus Police bomb squad and an Explosives Ordnance Unit from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base responded to take possession of the live rounds. After safely removing the rounds, the ammo was taken to two locations, Brinkhaven and Jackson Pike, to render safe with controlled detonations.

Arizona: Artillery projectile found in road; rendered safe with controlled detonation

San Tan Valley: On 12 February 2026, the Pinal County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) responded to a canal in the vicinity of Judd and Attaway Roads, a rural area in the San Tan Valley of Pinal County, AZ, after a concerned citizen reported a suspicious object in the road. Upon arriving, PCSO requested bomb squad assistance from the Arizona Department of Public Safety and a US Air Force Explosives Ordnance Disposal unit member from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base; the device was identified as a potentially live artillery projectile.

Florida: Suspicious package was ordnance, caused bomb squad to respond

Auburndale: On 12 February 2026, the Auburndale Police Department was called for a suspicious device near Orange Street. At approximately 1115 local time, out of an abundance of caution, law enforcement strongly recommended that all residents and businesses in the areas of Union Street, Ariana Ave, Bobby Green Plaza, Main Street, and Bridgers Avenue voluntarily evacuate.

California: Local resident turns in potentially explosive Civil War-era cannonball; device removed

Apple Valley: On 12 February 2026, at approximately 0900 local time, a local resident entered the Apple Valley Police Department on Dale Evans Parkway in Apple Valley, CA, with a suspected Civil War-era cannonball. The Apple Valley Police cordoned the area and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Bombs and Arson Division responded to assess the ordnance. They identified what appeared to be fuses making the device potentially explosive; they took possession of the device for proper disposal. The police station was given the all-clear.

Arkansas: Three pipe bombs found in city drainage system; rendered safe

Cave Springs: On 11 February 2026, city workers performing maintenance on storm drains found three pipe bombs in the intersection of Torrance Drive and Rainbow Road. Cave Springs Police along with the Bentonville Police Department’s bomb squad responded, the devices were rendered safe by the bomb squad. Examination of the pipe bombs indicated someone had attempted to initiate the devices, but they failed to detonate. Furthermore, the devices were inert due to being submerged in the drainage system for an unknown amount of time. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Florida: Homes evacuated after possible explosive devices were reported, one arrested

The Villages: On 10 February 2026, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) responded to a home after possible explosive devices were reported near Yucatan Way and Morse Boulevard. SCSO stated homes in the immediate area were evacuated while these items were safely removed from the home. The sheriff’s office said the bomb squad was called to the neighborhood. Sheriff's deputies reported they identified the materials as approximately 1.25 pounds of C-4 explosive compound. Deputies said in an update that the bomb squad determined “the explosives were confirmed stolen from the military".

Florida: A man found in possession of explosives, and Molotov cocktails, one arrested

Pompano Beach: On 6 February 2026, around 1000 local time, the Broward Sheriff's Office responded to the 900 block of Crystal Lake Drive for reports of a shooting at an apartment complex. Moments later, another call came in regarding a 47-year-old male in the road screaming and acting erratically nearby. Deputies arrived and, after the individual ignored warnings, used a Taser on and arrested the individual. Although no injuries were reported, shell casings were discovered outside the suspect’s apartment.

Virginia: Search warrant in tire deflation crime leads to IED discovery; safely removed, one arrested

Collinsville: On 2 February 2026, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) was serving a search warrant on a 64-year-old male suspect’s home on Murphy Road, when they discovered an improvised explosive device (IED). The suspect was being investigated for intentional tire deflation caused by the deliberate deployment of a spiked tire deflation device in his neighborhood. During the search, HCSO recovered evidence of the tire deflation device as well as a crudely constructed IED, remnants of additional detonated IEDs, and ammunition.
