On April 4, 2025, at approximately 2100 hours, Berea police conducted a routine traffic stop that resulted in the discovery of a loaded weapon, drugs and suspected homemade explosives. The devices were inside a white box and were described as "two cylindrical devices with green fuses." The suspect was arrested and faces a series of felony charges, including drug possession, having weapons under disability and possession of a dangerous ordnance. Police officers in the video can be heard discussing who will transport the explosive devices.

Deputies and the FBI are involved after an IED was found and detonated in a wooded area. Emergency responders arrived following reports of a loud blast and smoke. No injuries were reported.

Texas: Homemade Explosives (HME) Lab Required On-site Disposal; One Arrested

On April 15, 2025, in Austin, Texas, Austin Police responded to reports of explosives manufacturing at a home on Vintage Stave Road. The confirmation of explosives manufacturing prompted evacuations in the neighborhood, and the bomb squad was called in to investigate. After a thorough examination, the bomb squad safely detonated the sensitive explosives on-site. The incident caused temporary road closures. A suspect was taken into custody. The HME types involved included Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP) and Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide (MEKP).
